Virtual Edge™
The Virtual Edge is a result of collaboration between the authors of the Virtual Edge and the ToLTech team who developed the Visible Human. The result is a story of the human body: a prosection guide for the next era of anatomical study.
While traditional anatomical software has relied on artist interpretation of "typical anatomy," the VH Dissector explores an actual human cadaver with all of its subtle variations and anomalies, in the latest interactive computer environment.
In this format, students will be able to not only easily identify important anatomical structures, but be able to rotate those structures in three dimensions, move through adjoining layers, and observe the relationships between structures through correlated cross sections.
The Virtual Edge, in conjunction with the VH Dissector, is a stand alone prosection guide that can be used with or without an accompanying human cadaver. While it is intended for first time anatomy students, the curriculum will aslo allow experienced anatomists to further their anatomical understanding through interactive self-paced exploration. Together, they become a comprehensive anatomical program for every type of student.
